NPR VISION AND MISSION IS FOR A BETTER COMMUNITY

NPR IS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION OF THE NORTH POINT PENINSULA RESIDENTS.

ANY ASSOCIATION OF NPR WITH OTHER COMMUNITY LEADERS AND/OR THEIR GROUP(S) IS OFFICIAL ONLY WHEN ANNOUNCED BY THE MENTIONED PARTIES, HOWEVER NPR HOPES TO HAVE COOPERATION AND COLLABORATION WITH ALL OTHER NORTH POINT PENINSULA COMMUNITY LEADERS.

NPR VISION

  1. For all residents to participate by providing community group leader(s) with their feedback in membership, voting, and/or constructive input; and
  2. For all residents to stay informed by reading materials provided to the community, such as community group newsletters and other community related publications.
  3. NPR will not ask for dues.  Sponsors and/or volunteers will be recruited for specific tasks.
  4. NPR may publish a newsletter which will probably be a minimum of four newsletters per year to be mailed out in spring, summer, fall and winter.  The goal is to give each community section a page on the newsletter for their announcements, etc.
  5. The most important issue to NPR is to better inform and organize the residents so that we can preserve our way of life here according to the residents.  The Peninsula has nine community sections and only three of them are organized; Beachwood(Builder Mandated), Lynch Point (Probate Mandated), and Millers Island.  That is why web sites for each section, not already organized with one, have been created.
  6. If you try to visualize a community organization hierarchy, we think NPC handles more complex issues that involve coordination with businesses, residents, and government, and therefore should be at the top of the hierarchy.  Below NPC should be two branches (MIEBA and NPR).  Millers Island/Edgemere Business Association (MIEBA), already established, coordinates  businesses in our area.

    NPR MISSION STATEMENT

To balance the needs and obligations of the community as a whole with those of individual homeowners and residents.  In more detail this involves:

  1. Encouraging input from residents on issues affecting them personally and the community as a whole.
  2. Establishing committees and/or using other methods to obtain input from residents.
  3. Encouraging events that foster neighborliness and a sense of community.
  4. Conducting open, fair and well-publicized elections.
  5. Welcoming and educating new residents of the community.
  6. Providing a process residents can use to be better organized;
  7. Providing a process residents can use to better communicate and be as understandable as possible.
  8. To work with our government and all community groups on the North Point Peninsula in an effort to get more accomplished for the good of the community.

NPR LOOKS FORWARD TO A POSITIVE WORKING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE RESIDENTS AND OTHER COMMUNITY LEADERS ON THE PENINSULA.
